Taking a stroll along a river here in Shenzhen, having a casual giving you my opinions about if China is a safe country to live in. I have now lived here for two years and travelled fairly extensively throughout the country so am much more well experienced to speak about it compared to previously when I had only been in China for six months.

In North America, they prefer endangering civilians with high speed car chases instead of cameras.

In Brazil it's the opposite: we walk the streets feeling constant fear.

In China, based on my experience, it is as simple as if you don't bother others, they won't bother you.

China is a very safe country to go outside middle of the night. Even for ladies. You can't do that in western countries. At least some western countries. Even drunk people here don't bother anyone. I don't think because of the camera or big cities. I went to small cities. I feel the same all the time.

I live in your country and you live in my country. Being a westerner, you are a such brave man for speaking the truth loudly. especially the word" harmony" , western medias will hate to hear that. wish you have a wonderful life in China.

If you are someone whos grown up in a major US city and are accustomed to crime being the norm, it really is an unfamiliar feeling to walk around and not fear for something as simple as locking up your belongings.

I stayed in Nanning for 13 years and never, ever had a problem with security. It made you feel so safe in China. And for a number of years before Nanning I visited many cities in China and never had a problem with my security. I did have a bicycle stolen in Nanning years ago but that was a one of.

I admire you for being brave enough to tell the truth when you are suppressed by Europe and America.

I have now lived in a large rural town, the centre of a county in Guangxi, for over four years, and it is as safe here as in a tier one city. Of course there are minor crimes of theft, but personal safety is not an issue. There are no bashings or threats. My wife however did have her e-bike stolen in Shenzhen, which was unfortunate, but then i lost my bag containing my passport, wallet and other documents, and while feeling bad about it, only an hour later i got a phone call from the police advising me that someone had found my bag and brought it to the police station.

Australia issues a travel warning for China, while the statistics show that more Australians have died from random violence in the US. Look up the tragic death of Aussie baseball player killed while jogging by bored teenagers. They were quoted 'decided to kill someone for the fun of it'. Many cities in the US you would not step out after nightfall.

When I was traveling in other countries, I was always reminded that dont go out at night. But in China, I always go home after midnight alone

Safety in China is based both on cultural specifics and government drive. Outstanding video!

What Im most envious of people living in China, is that you have a huge country to travel around during the pandemic. In HK were pretty much stuck in this city. I must say though we do have lots of beautiful country parks that people can escape to, and hundreds of wonderful walking trails. This fact is mostly unknown to people outside of HK.

I feel great about the cameras around me. In fact, I don't worry about losing sonething anymore. I misplaced something quite valuble at a golf club in Shanghai today and not for a second I was worried.

once the street in front of my home was called "bloody street", the reason is that drunk people, gangs were fight there, knife battle happened many times, the children were told they cannot go to that street, but, after the cameras were installed, this street became a commercial street, just install cameras, I do not care if the government are spy on me, just ensure that I can be safe in my city

I was wondering why my US collages warned me not to go outside after dark when I was going to visit San Francisco back in 2014, I couldn't believe that until they showed me the tenderloin district at day time, oh what a wake-up call, I really appreciated their warning though, it was really nice of them for doing that.

Safety of life should be of the highest priority. Being sticky on privacy prior to the life safety is ridiculous.
